Every term, children will bring home a document called a Knowledge Organiser. The Knowledge Organiser contains the essential information that children will need to know as part of the new topic they will be studying in class. On it, it will have all of the details that children will be taught and will be expected to remember at the end of that topic.
Teachers will provide children with the same Knowledge Organiser to use during lessons as a learning prompt sheet that supports work undertaken in class. They may also set work based on the knowledge organiser for children to complete at home.
It is essential that when you receive it, you keep your child’s knowledge organiser somewhere safe so that any homework based on it can be completed successfully.
Knowledge Organisers are designed to be used at home by parents to help their children learn the information contained within them ‘off by heart’. The best way to use the Knowledge Organiser at home with your child is as follows:

We are confident that these Knowledge Organisers will help our children to develop knowledge on a wide range of topics and will significantly improve their long- term memory and vocabulary skills. This, in turn, will make them more confident students in class and will help them in developing their reading and writing skills.
All Knowledge Organisers will be made available each term on the school website within your child’s class page.
We thank you in advance for your partnership work in helping your child to be as knowledgeable as they can and to achieve their full potential.
