Vision and values

Because of the context of our church school and our community’s needs, our school vision is:

Drawing on the teachings of Isaiah to show faith and resilience in challenging times, our school provides learning for 21st century living, hope for social, moral, spiritual and cultural radiance and encourages everyone to flourish; to work hard and be the best that they can be. It celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of each person within our community and incorporates an acronym of our school values upon which all life within our school is built: Achievement, Respect, Inclusion, Support and Enjoyment. “Our All Saints family shall arise and shine for the light of the Lord is upon us.”

The school’s vision is usually articulated by all stakeholders through the verbalisation of its final line: “Our All Saints family shall arise and shine for the light of the Lord is upon us.” This paraphrasing is taken from Isaiah 60;1 in which he preaches to the people of Jerusalem living in difficult times (physical and spiritual darkness) to be strong and to believe that God will light their way to a more radiant and flourishing future.

The image associated with our vision was designed by the children themselves and consists of a diverse set of silhouettes (race, creed and background all indiscernible) holding hands under a dark sky looking forwards at the sun rising. Side by side within this group to them all is the figure of a cross.

Our Christian vision is the underpinning of all life within the school. It is expressed everywhere and by everybody. As a result of this, all decisions at All Saints are made with consideration to it and all policies, practices and behaviour are built upon it.

Once a term, we hold a school Vision and Values Day where everybody at every level and age group revisit the Christian intention of the school (the vision) and reflect on how we currently live it and could live it better in the future.
