Bounce

This term we took part in a lot of hopping, skipping, running, jumping and bouncing! We took part in a variety of sporting activities and saw if practice makes perfect. Film clips, photographs and information books helped us to investigate how animals move, and we found out how exercise can affect our bodies.  We investigated different spheres and created a beautiful, spherical art installation. Our sporting heroes  provided us with plenty of inspiration as we worked together in teams and relied on each other to score points and win games.

We created a new sports game and instructions for it. We listened to stories and wrote an alternative version. In science we  investigated how objects and materials can be changed. Finally we read poems about sport, movement and exercise, talked about words and phrases we particularly liked then write our favourite poem in our best handwriting and illustrated it. We combined the poems together to create a class poetry anthology.
