Term 3‑4 Highlights: Castles, Bridges and Fairy‑Tale Adventures

In Term 3 and 4 we journeyed through the ages of castles, exploring how they were defended and attacked. We read the story of Rapunzel in her towering tower, then penned newspaper articles about her daring rescue and even built a brand‑new tower – we asked, “Whose is the tallest? Can you measure it?”

Our investigations took us underground to discover the creatures that live beneath our feet, and we asked, “What’s that sound?” We also enjoyed the tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, hearing little hooves go “trip, trap, trip, trap” over a rickety bridge.

We studied bridge structures, designed and constructed our own, and learned about the life of Brunel and his amazing bridge designs.

Finally, we visited Fort Amherst to uncover our local history.
