Our Curriculum

Our Foundation Stage is made up of 2 classes with a maximum of 45 children.  We share our learning environments with children being based in their own class groups for morning/afternoon routines, adult led group times and story times.  Throughout the rest of the day, the children will all be together, taking part in Child-led and some Adult-led activities, across both classrooms and the outside area come rain or shine.
We use the E
YFS curriculum Development Matters for our planning, and we base our learning around what we are interested in. Year R will experience 6 Imaginative Learning Projects in a year.
We are confident that our curriculum will instil a curiosity and love of learning/school in our children. It will help them maintain their well-being and provide opportunities for each of them to achieve their full potential. In all activities, we make sure that there is an accessible challenge to extend learning and we even have a termly curriculum challenge which the whole school takes part in!

Our current topic:

All about me!

We will be talking about our family and friends as well as our homes and where we live. We will learn about embracing our differences and what makes us unique as well as discovering what we have in common with others.

Our Key texts:

The Colour Monster  / Owl Babies  / Ruby’s Worry  / A Little Bit Brave  / Elmer  / The Lion Inside

Home learning

This is sent home on a Friday and is due back on Thursday.

Term 1 - Bedtime story book for our adults to read to us.

Term 2 - Bedtime story book, phonics book and letter or number formation.

Term 3-6 - Bedtime story book, phonics book (and maybe homework depending on group) and a maths activity sheet.

PE

We have our PE lessons on Wednesdays.
Please bring in your child's PE kit at the beginning of term that can stay in school and we will send it home to be washed at the end of each term.

Outside learning and safety

We spend a lot of time outside, whatever the weather so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.

For the warmer months:
sun cream / hat / water bottle

For the colder months:
hat / scarf / gloves / warm coat (preferably waterproof)

Please make sure all clothing is labelled!

Our Behaviour Policy

At All Saints school we have a very simple set of rules that apply to every child in every class. The rules are displayed in each learning space.

Our school rules are:

To ARISE and shine:

We stay seated
We listen to each other
We use indoor voices
We are organised for learning

Our Rewards

  • Stickers and Dojo Points: Earned for following our Arise and Shine rules.
  • Term Treat: We work together to win a special reward that the children choose!

Our 5-Step Behaviour Rule

If a rule is broken, teachers follow these simple steps to help everyone get back on track:

  1. 1-1 Reminder – A quiet chat to remind you of the rules.
  2. Warning – A clear reminder to make a better choice.
  3. Regulation Station – A quiet space to calm down and reflect.
  4. Time Out – A short break to work in another teacher's room.
  5. Phase Leader – Speaking with a senior teacher for extra support.

As always, thank you for your continuous support.
