St Anne
In term 3, throughout our topic, we looked at the different structures of the earth's layers, focusing on what each layer consisted of, how it was formed and each of it's uses and features. We designed and created our own structures in Art, Design and Technology and studied each layer in depth.
In literacy, we planned, drafted, edited and neatly wrote up an imaginative narrative, a non-chronological report and a wonderful shape poem- these were fantastic! All of which were based around volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
We then looked at multiplication and division and length and perimeter, where we built on our prior knowledge and expanded our learning, outside of the classroom.
In term 4, we focused on volcanoes and the process behind an eruption. We researched, designed and created our own volcanoes, planned an experiment and created our own eruptions to experience what it would look like in person.
In literacy, we spent our time researching and experiencing the life of a person from Pompeii. We then turned these experiences into diary entries and texts from a first person view.
We then wrote a newspaper report on a devastating earthquake in real-time. We watched the events happen and carefully produced informative reports to show the emotional impact that these natural disasters have on the world.
In maths, we looked at Mass and Capacity- where we used our measuring skills to estimate the volume and capacity of different items. We then looked at statistics, where we created our own research and plotted tally charts, bar charts and pictograms to represent our favourite things.
Altogether, St Anne have been busy creating long-lasting learning and spectacular memories, impacting their creative minds, for years to come.
St Anne cannot wait for term 5 and 6, where we will be creating even more memorable learning opportunities.
