St Augustine
This term, St. Augustine’s class has been immersed in the fascinating and mysterious world of ‘Potions.’ Our journey led us down a rabbit hole of curiosity as we explored Alice in Wonderland, using the story as inspiration for a range of creative writing tasks. We transformed into newspaper reporters and talented authors, crafting setting and character descriptions that brought the magical world to life.
Our literary adventure didn’t stop there! We also dived into Shakespeare’s Macbeth, where we were captivated by its unexpected twists and dramatic turns. Taking on the role of writers, we produced diary entries, letters, and even an official announcement of King Duncan’s death—a big responsibility, but one we tackled with enthusiasm!
In Science, we explored states of matter, investigating reversible and irreversible changes in materials. As budding scientists, we carried out an exciting experiment, observing how a frozen bottle of ice melted over time. We made predictions, recorded observations, analysed our findings, and presented our results. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already planned another experiment for Term 5, determined to make it even better!
A highlight of our term was our visit to Kent Life, where we got hands-on with clay and crafted our own pots as part of our Art topic. The trip was full of fun and learning, and we created memories that will stay with us forever!
We can't wait to see what is in store for us next term!
