This term we have had lots of fun, learning about Winter wonderland and Starry night. 

Starry Night

We explored what happens at night times. We learnt some animals are awake at night time. we sorted out animals in to groups of nocturnal and diurnal animals.

We know some that some people work at night and why they work at night. 

We read the owl babies book and sequenced the story using pictures. 

We read the story whatever next. We made rockets so we could fly to the moon, and have a pretend picnic on the moon. We taped lids to our rocket ships for buttons, so we could fly it. We asked Miss dray if we could take apples with us, like baby bear did.  

Winter Wonderland

We had a couple of days where the nursery garden had ice. We experimented with the ice. We tried to break it with the children given us suggestions. We tried using hot water, breaking it with a hammer and using salt. We mixed colour in the ice and watched what happened. 

We made fat balls for the birds. We learnt that birds struggle to find food during the winter.  We mixed: lard, raisins, cheese and bird seed together. 

We looked at Antarctica and the Arctic. We saw the different animals that live on them and looked at the colours of these animals.
