Pupil Support Team

At All Saints Primary we want everyone involved with our school to feel well supported.  We believe that good pastoral support focuses on nurturing the individual needs of each child.  We aim to build trusting and empathic relationships with all our pupils and their families.

Together we work with students so they can lead fulfilling and balanced lives at our school and beyond.  All our staff model to students how to look after themselves and others, encouraging them to seek help, support or advice whenever they need it.

Pastoral care underpins personal development and we know from experience that, with understanding pastoral care, children feel that they belong and their self-esteem is able to flourish because they feel valued and cared for.

Supporting the pastoral needs of pupils sometimes involves working with external agencies.  In these situations, we ensure that a confidential, professional, non-judgemental and sensitive service is provided.

Our SEND and Pastoral Support team consists of Mrs Forghani-Ashrafi (Joint Head of School, SENDCo, DSL), Miss Strachan (Exexcutive Head of Schools, Lead DSL), Mrs Bell (Pupil and Family Support Worker, DSL), Mrs Milton (Joint Head of School, DSL) and Mrs Gething (safeguarding  and attendance admin officer).

This team ensures that children receive personalised interventions and pastoral care, whether it be for their social and emotional needs, special educational needs, disabilities, behaviour, mental health or medical needs. We support teachers and parents to identify and meet the needs of every child, providing opportunities for real-life learning and working with other agencies to ensure the best possible provision for our vulnerable pupils.

At All Saints, we understand the vital role our families play in the well-being and development of their children and the importance of working together as a team which is why we have an ‘open door’ policy allowing parents to meet to discuss any concerns they may have and often hold informal coffee mornings.
