Maafa

Our theme for the previous two terms has been Maafa. This topic has enabled us to explore the Slave Trade in depth, analysing how slaves were taken from Africa, what life was like for African slaves and considered how throughout history there have been many people who have stood up for and against discrimination. 

We have explored a range of Artists and discussed the many ways in which Art can be created through different mediums. We have then created our own pieces of Art in these styles.

Alongside this topic, we have learnt about the World, its time zones and grid references. Discovered contour lines on a map and explored the differences between Rural and Urban areas. We have also learnt about the Circulatory System and the key parts which help keep us alive.
