St Anne
Throughout terms 1 and 2, the children deep-dived into the topic 'Tribal Tales', a topic about discovering the past. Children in St Anne’s have been able to develop their knowledge of British prehistory from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age. They have had the opportunity to discover the changes to the people and lifestyle caused by ingenuity, invention, and technological advancement. Throughout this topic the children have been able to investigate what tools they used throughout these stages, how these were created and what materials were used. The children became archaeologists and researched how people from these times lived, what they ate and how they survived; whilst comparing each era to one another and describing why these changes occurred.
The children even had the exciting chance to become young archaeologists who had been called upon to carry out a controlled dig after they had uncovered an ancient burial site containing human remains and wrote their oven very report on their findings.
During this topic, the children also had the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills, drawing, designing and investigating prehistoric patterns, carve their designs into their prehistoric walls and had the chance to draw their own their very own Rock paintings!
Alongside this, the children in St Anne learnt all about the features of a cinquain poem and worked alongside their own 'tribes' to insult the opposing tribe's Chief. The children enjoyed showcasing these and sharing these with their fellow tribe members. St Anne have worked extremely hard the past 2 terms and have enjoyed learning all about ‘Tribal Tales’. Their incredible work is a credit to this!
Well done St Anne!
I am so proud of your achievements!
