Behaviour at School
At All Saints school we have a very simple set of rules that apply to every child in every class. The rules are displayed in each learning space.
Our school rules are:
To ARISE and shine:
We stay seated
We listen to each other
We use indoor voices
We are organised for learning
Children who follow the Arise and Shine rules are rewarded with individual Dojo points on their class digital behaviour system. All classes work towards an end of term treat that is decided by the children - but they have to earn points to participate in it.
Each week in our vision in action worship gathering, we recognise children for arising and shining in class (this could be for good work, good attitude or good behaviour) and we award certificates when pupils are credited with 5, 10 and 15 arise and shine mentions. In addition to the former, in our arise and shine Friday worship session we also award one pupil from each class who has been seen demonstrating the selected value for our school that term. Our school values are firmly embedded into our vision within the word ARISE which stands for Achievement, Respect, Inclusion, Support and Enjoyment. We concentrate on one school value to look for in the children and to demonstrate ourselves each term.
Staff follow a clear behaviour procedure if our school rules are broken. The procedure is laid out below.
For some pupils, behaviour plans are in place in negotiation with parents so after seeing phase leaders, children would see Pupil Support Team leaders (Mrs Bell and Mrs Gething). If poor behaviour still continues, one of the Co Heads of school would be sought (Mrs Milton or Mrs Forghani). In extreme cases parents are sometimes called in to sit in class with their child.
All of our rules are worded inclusively and positively as we believe attending school should be an inclusive and positive experience where everyone is safe, has the right to learn and is able to ARISE and shine.
