Maafa

Our theme for terms 1 and 2 is Maafa. This topic has enabled us to explore the Slave Trade in depth, analysing how slaves were taken from Africa, what life was like for African slaves and considered how throughout history there have been many people who have stood up for and against discrimination. 

We have explored a range of Artists and discussed the many ways in which Art can be created through different mediums and created our own pieces in the style of trailblazer artists.

Alongside this topic, we have explored Food for Life and what makes a balanced diet, creating our own homemade bread. In addition we have compared the nutritional values of foods and what this means for our growing bodies.
