St Patrick
Term 3 and 4 - Bright Lights, Big City
This term the children learned all about the City of London. We began our topic with a royal tea party and imagined that we were in the presence of the royal family. We practiced our curtsies and held our tea cups in a fancy way. The children located London on a map and had an online tour of the sights of London. We then wrote postcards using what we had learned about London to describe what we had seen. In Science the children learned about how the sun affects the weather and what the weather symbols mean. They then made their own windsocks to help them to measure how windy it was outside whilst paying close attention to how the wind affected the tree leaves and branches. In Art the children learnt how to do collagraphy and made a print of a weather symbol. St Patrick's have been learning how to play tag rugby, tennis and kwik cricket during P.E and have been working on developing their agility skills.
The children have been very busy and during all of their learning they even managed to practice and learn their lines and song words for their class assembly! Our new topic after the holidays will be "School Days".
