St Martha
During terms 1 & 2, the children engaged with the topic, 'Tomorrow's World.' The children learnt about the history of computing, who the significant individuals responsible for the advancement of communication technology were and the features of websites. Furthermore, they explored the different types of malware, investigated how light travels with lasers and the transparency of materials in exciting scientific experiments! However, what the children enjoyed the most was: writing their own persuasive adverts for their very own spy gadgets, reporting on the death of Ian Rider in a newspaper (based on our class text, 'Alex Rider: Stormbreaker' by Anthony Horowitz) and using their imagination to write a thriller narrative with their own evil villains! We have had a fantastic start to the year and hope that our learning continues to be as engaging!
