St Anne
Our topic for terms 3 and 4 was Rocks, Relics and Rumbles.' This term, the children developed their knowledge about the different parts of volcanoes, identified rocks from the Earth's crust and learnt what a force is in science with fantastic experiments in the classroom! St. Anne had the opportunity to sketch ammonite fossils and looked into the work of Fibonacci and how his discovery of spirals have contributed to architecture around the world. St. Anne also enjoyed writing diary entries and newspaper reports as if they were in the 79AD Pompeii eruption of Mount Vesuvius alongside some great acting. Furthermore, St. Anne loved reading The Firework Maker's Daughter by Philip Pullman whereby they enjoyed unpicking some adventurous vocabulary and stealing it for their own writing.
