St Augustine
Misty Mountain, Winding River (Terms 3 & 4)
St. Augustine have enjoyed this topic and are sad to see it end. Firstly, the children loved writing diary entries as if they had been sailing down a river from another continent and describing all the amazing, or even dangerous things they had seen. Similarly, St. Augustine found the water cycle fascinating to learn about and wrote informative explanations about how the process occurs. Furthermore, they investigated the three states of matter with exciting experiments involving ice and even chocolate! Without a doubt, sketching mountains using atmospheric perspective was a highlight for St. Augustine and learning about the classification of living things on Earth whereby they created their own classification keys of creepy crawlies or plants!
Obviously, all of the children also shined in our LKS2 production of the 'Minotaur' with some beautiful solo singing and dramatic acting performances. Everyone is looking forward to our next topic, '1066', which has a focus on the Normans.
