St Peter & St Paul
In St Peter and St Paul our themes were ‘Ready, Steady Grow’ and ‘The Easter Story.
In our classroom, we have been very lucky to have some special visitors! Some caterpillars arrived… We have enjoyed watching them change and are eagerly waiting for them to become butterflies.
We have enjoyed learning about life cycles and how they keep going round and round. We read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and this helped us to understand the changes that happen in the life cycle. We discussed the difference between a cocoon and a chrysalis.
We enjoyed carrying out a science investigation involving bread! We had to rub our dirty hands on a slice of bread and then wash them and rub our clean hands on another slice of bread. We then observed what happened to them – it was rather disgusting!
This term we have thought about The Easter Story, we have learnt about why Christians celebrate Easter and what happened to Jesus at this time of the year. We enjoyed designing our own Easter Gardens and understand why a cross is placed in them. We have also made our own Palm Crosses to remind us of Palm Sunday.
